- שִׁינּוּן, שִׁנּ׳m. (שָׁנַן) diligent teaching, memorizing. Sifré Deut. 34 (ref. to Deut. 6:7) אלו בש׳וכ׳ these words must be memorized (by the children), but the passages (Ex. 13:1–10; 11–16) need not be memorized; ib. אינו דין שיהו בש׳ is it not a logical conclusion that they must be memorized?; Yalk. ib. 841.
